The way forward after Ramadhan

By listening to the lives of the pious people, and the advices they have mentioned, light (Noor) enters into the gathering and into the heart.

Generally, people understand that when Ramadhan ends, they now have a lengthy holiday till next year Ramadhan. But in the view of Shari’ah, we don't have a holiday, rather we will only get a holiday when we die.

It is a strange institute; the one who learns doesn’t get a holiday. Generally, when one knows one’s work, they get a holiday. When a person is in the institute of Allah Ta’aala's love and Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam’s love, they don’t get off.

Our elderly Ulama would say:

ليس العيد لمن لبس الجديد

انما العيد لمن خاف الوعيد

[Eid is not for the one who wears new clothes, rather Eid is for the one fears the warning.]

To wear new clothes is Mustahab, but Eid is not only about new clothes.

[But for him who feareth the standing before his Lord there are two gardens (Surah Rahman, Ayah 46}.]

Allah Ta’ālā says that in front of you is the bridge over Jahanam, the Hadith explains it as being thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword, with the length being a 1000 years. Some will cross it at the speed of light, others will cross it like wind, some will walk across it, others will walk, fall and then get up again and continue and unfortunately, some will fall in.

Eid is for the one who fears this warning, in front of me is this bridge and what will happen to me there? In front of me is the pond of Kauthar, which flows from Jannah and people will drink from the hands of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam or under Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam’s supervision. Those who are innovators and hypocrites will not be allowed to drink. Those who drink from it will never be thirsty again. That water which is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey and cooler than ice. It has 4 equal sides and has glasses that are so many, like the shimmering stars.

(Wa-eed) has the meaning of shouting or instilling fear.

[Eid is not for the one mounts a conveyance, Eid is for the one whose sins are forgiven]

The habit of the Arabs is to mount their camels and to ride them around and to enjoy themselves. Minor sins are forgiven due to good deeds, for example by performing Wudhu small sins are forgiven. A person should not say "I am only involved in minor sins" because minor sins can gather or due to constantly doing it, it will become a major sin.

[Leave small sins big sins, this is Taqwa (Piety)],

[And be like the one walking on a thorny land fearing what he can see],

[Do not consider small sins as insignificant, verily mountains are made of pebbles]

Eid is for the one who is forgiven, and the easy method is to make Taubah (repent). After repenting, Allah Ta’ālā mentions: [Save him who repenteth and believeth and doth righteous work; as for such, Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful]. (Surah Furqan, Ayah 70)].

If the question is created in someone's heart, what does it mean to be changed from evil to good? If someone drank wine in its place it will be written that he drank Zam Zam or if someone hit someone and it’s place it will be written that he gave someone ice cream. This can't happen!

The Mufassireen have given two meanings. 1:- He will make such a pure and correct Taubah (repentance) that he will reach the height of regret over his previous sins and his eyes will close out of shame of his sins that on the Day of Qiyamah how will he be able to present himself? . Due to reaching that stage, Allah Ta’ālā will place mercy in the place of his sins. When Allah Ta’ālā wipes away the sins and places mercy.

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam mentions that one person caught the baby of a bird and the mother was circling around nearby, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam mentions that Allah Ta’ālā is more merciful than that concerned mother.

2:- Allah Ta’ālā will change his evil deeds in the future.  He used to do wrong things and now he will do good things. Before he stole and now he gives charity, before he deceived people and now he deals as a trustworthy person. Before he killed and now he assists the oppressed.

Allah Ta’ālā has placed work for us to do after Eid.

[Eid is not for the one who sits on carpets, Eid is on the one who traverses the Sirat (bridge)]

Eid is not like the Arabs going into the deserts, etc. and laying blankets and eating. Eid is for the one who traverses the bridge easily and drinks from the Pool of Kauthar.

[Eid is not for the one who burns Oud, verily Eid is for the repenter who does not return (to sinning).]

Eid is not like the Arabs who place Oud sticks onto hot coals and the smoke that comes out of it but rather it is for the one who repents and never looks back.

[Eid is not for the one who gathers provisions of this world, but rather Eid is for the one who gathers the provision of piety.]

Eid is not for one who gathers all the beauties of this world. What is the beauty of this world? In previous times, people would say drinking from a glass has its own pleasure but drinking from an earthen bowl also has its own pleasure and this is what was used in the time of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

Taqwa (piety) consists of three things:

1. Staying away from sins

2. Doing good

3. Having good character

[Eid is not for the one who wastes his time in discussion, but Eid is for the one who obeys Allah Ta’ālā and his Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.]

May Allah Ta’ālā give this to all of us.

Aameen
