Question: Is fidyah compulsory on behalf of the deceased who due to a coma could not fast and perform salaah?

 

Answer: It is not necessary to give Fidyah on behalf of the deceased. He was not in the position of performing Ibādah and since he was in a coma, fasting and Salāh were not obligatory on him.
