Q) What is the status of the Imāmat in Ṣalāh al-Tarāwīḥ of a person who shaves or trims his beard?

A) The Imāmat of such a person is classified as Makrūh al-Taḥrīmī (close to Ḥarām). If the committee of the Musjid forcefully appoints such an Imām and there is no possibility of removing him, then Ṣalāh should be read behind a pious Imām in another Musjid. If this is also not possible then Ṣalāh in congregation should not be abandoned but rather that very Imām should be followed. The onus of the sin and punishment will then be on the members of the committee.
